I’ve been away from podcasting and social media for a good part of the summer. It has been a healthy, head clearing break. I am not gone, and I am not podfading. However, the winds of change are blowing and I sway with these winds. Something will be changing. I’m not sure of all of the details, but they have been under consideration for some time.

If you listen to this podcast, you almost certainly have heard of iTunes. Many think that that’s the only way to get music into your iPod. That’s not true.

Amazon now offers downloadable mp3’s. It used to be that you needed to buy the CD’s from Amazon, but if you needed it right now, you had to go to iTunes. Amazon now allows you to download mp3’s. Now I know what your argument is going to be- I have an iPod. I use iTunes, and I don’t want the hassle of importing tracks into iTunes. You don’t need to. Amazon has an download tool for all platforms to download the track and automagically import it into iTunes.

There are many reasons to consider Amazon for your mp3 music purchases:

• Amazon mp3’s are often cheaper (some are $.66 cents, as opposed to $.99 minimum you pay at iTunes)
• Amazon mp3’s are high quality (usually sampled at 256kbps, which, trust me, is a high rate and produces high quality sound)
• Amazon mp3’s come without digital rights management (DRM) which means you don’t have the restrictions iTunes puts on tracks.

So sorry! The holiday has delayed the production of Bernies World 81. I will not have a new episode posted until next Tuesday, May 27th late in the evening.For those of you jazzing for some Bernie- go over to Podcast Reviews: Edgy Reviews from That Podcast Show. I took a chance and submitted my show for review, and they graciously added me to their list of reviewed shows.

They’ve reviewed 81 shows since they began the podcast. None have received 5 stars, and only eight have received 4.5 stars. Bernies World is one of those select few.
